Introduction
In our last 3 lessons we learned about the doctrines of the GLCC and the 5 pillars in which she is held together.
We also look at the standards of the church; the principles in which are outlined in the Word of God.
Today we come to a decision point in our Christian walk and that is whether to join the GLCC as a church member.
If you so decide to become a member of this church, we would you to establish a covenant with the church and it
is as follows:
GLCC Membership Covenant
Having trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and been baptized, and being in agreement with GLCC's
beliefs, practices and aims, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the GLCC family. In doing so, I commit
myself to God and to the other members to do the following:
1. I will protect the unity of my church
by acting in love toward other members (Romans 14:19)
by refusing to gossip (Ephesians 4:29)
by following the leaders (Hebrews 13:17)
2. I will share the responsibilities of my church
by praying for its growth (1Thesselonians 1:1,2)by inviting unbelievers to attend (Luke 14:23)
by warmly welcoming those who visit (Romans 15:7)
3. I will serve the ministries of my church
by discovering my gifts and talents (1 Peter 4:10)
by being equipped for service (Ephesians 4:11-12)
by developing a servant's heart (Philippians 2:3,4,7)
4. I will uphold the testimony of my church
by attending and participating in its services faithfully (Hebrew 10:25)
by living a godly life (Philippians 1:27)
by giving regularly and sacrificially (Galatians 6:6)
